GA: Legislature set to pass immigration crackdown HB87

GA: Legislature set to pass immigration crackdown. The bill was heading to the House this evening for a possible final vote. The author of HB87 – Rep. Matt Ramsey(R) of said he and the House Republican leaders support the changes the Senate made in the bill and will vote for it this evening.“It’s an outstanding bill. We worked with the Senate closely to get it in a form we could all be proud of. And I think we are there now.”If the House approves the bill, it would go to Gov. Nathan Deal for his signature. The Republican governor campaigned last year on bringing such an Arizona-style law to Georgia, but he has not yet taken a position on HB87.
