NAFTA: Mexican truckers to drive cargo into US interior
NAFTA: Mexican truckers to drive cargo into US interior...The North American Free Trade Agreement, or NAFTA, included a provision that the U.S. and Mexico would allow each other's trucks to haul cargo across the border for delivery anywhere inside the other country. To comply with NAFTA, the Obama administration in April proposed a three-year pilot program with requirements for Mexican truckers that include a preliminary safety audit, purchase of U.S. insurance, English proficiency for drivers, truck inspections for every border crossing for at least the first three months, an 18-month probation period and a three-month renewal period for safety inspections after permanent authority is granted.

Mexican Trucks: Hoffa: Public opposes 'illegal, unsafe' Mexico truck program
Mexican Trucks: Hoffa: Public opposes 'illegal, unsafe' Mexico truck program... Teamsters General President Jim Hoffa says the U.S. DOT should listen to the American public and not open the border to Mexican trucks because of concerns about job loss, border security, highway safety and the legality of the program itself.
Teamsters and other Americans submitted more than a thousand comments OPPOSING the DOT plan to open the border during the 30-day comment period in the Federal Register, which ended Friday. The Teamsters for two years have urged the administration to bring a challenge against Mexico for imposing excessive tariffs on U.S. goods instead of agreeing to open the border to unsafe trucks.

Obama and Mexican Trucks
Obama and Mexican Trucks..Don't let anybody get by with saying that NAFTA requires us to admit Mexican trucks because it's a treaty. It isn't; NAFTA never complied with the treaty provision in the U.S. Constitution and is merely a law passed by Congress that can be changed or overturned..Tell your Member of Congress to take action to cancel Obama's truck deal with the Mexican president. Solo deals like this one cannot be tolerated under constitutional government.
