Mexico, DF: San Luis tunnel shows enforcement working

Mexico, DF: San Luis tunnel shows enforcement working...Army troops found a tunnel in San Luis Rio Colorado, a city in Mexico's Sonora state, that wasbeing constructed to smuggle drugs and people into the US..Two vehicles, one with Baja California tags and the other with California tags, were seized..There are so few places the San Luis tunnel could go it was almost a certainty that it would be discovered. This shows just how desperate the smugglers are. Now, if we can just finish the fence!

"The (border) fence is now basically complete," says Obama

"The (border) fence is now basically complete,"...says Obama ..There are now 350 miles of pedestrian fencing along the Mexican border. The border is 1,954 miles long. That's 18%. And only one-tenth of that 18% is the double and triple fencing that has proved so remarkably effective in, for example, the Yuma sector. Another 299 miles — 15% — are vehicle barriers that pedestrians can walk right through. (and vehicles drive over with their ramps)

Questions to Ask? Brittanicus speaks...

Questions to Ask? Brittanicus speaks...You might question why the 2006 Double-layer border fence, complete with concertina razor wire was killed within months of being enacted? Or why we should be suspicious of E-Verify, Secure Communities not being mandated nationwide, to detect illegal workers and to verify fingerprints of criminal aliens? YOU MIGHT FURTHERMORE ASK WHY IT’S NOT A FELONY, LIKE OTHER COUNTRIES TO ENTER AMERICA WITHOUT PERMISSION?

Finish the Fence...Senator DeMint hits a home run

Finish the Fence...Senator DeMint hits a home run... Speeches and Summits Won't Secure the Border. 5 years ago, legislation was passed to build a 700-mile double-layer border fence along the southwest border. This is a promise that has not been kept. According to staff at the DHS, just 5% of the double-layer fencing is complete, only 36.3 miles. The GAO, Congress's investigative arm, reported in early 2009 that only 32 miles of double-layer fencing had been built. That means under Obama, only 4.3 miles of double layer fencing has been built. This is woefully inadequate.

TX: Government’s Border Security Approach Is ‘Ineffective and Expensive,’ Texas Judge Veronica Escobar(D) Tells Senators

TX: Government’s Border Security Approach Is ‘Ineffective and Expensive,’ Texas Judge Veronica Escobar(D) Tells Senators... Judge Escobar of El Paso, a Texas Democrat, says that the federal government’s border security approach is “ineffective” because it involves building fences that are “pushing border crossers” to “more dangerous, treacherous crossings” or inspiring them to build tunnels.
