Blatant, in-your-face corruption and Nazi tactics in MARYLAND occurring NOW
The DREAM Act, granting in-state tuition and other special privileges to illegal aliens was defeated in Congress last year, but MD, a sanctuary state, was able to pass its own version (SB 167) in April. This was managed by intense lobbying from the far leftwing illegal [alien] advocate organization, CASA de Maryland -- which receives millions from the state -- and a blizzard of legislative contortions..Almost from the beginning, CASA activists and others have harassed petitioners wherever they set up. Here is a partial list of their tactics:

MD: Teachers Use Socialist Texbooks to Brainwash 3rd Graders to Accept Nanny-State Role of Govt.
MD: Teachers Use Socialist Texbooks to Brainwash 3rd Graders to Accept Nanny-State Role of Govt....Some Frederick County parents are upset over a third-grade textbook that they say promotes such ideas as government-sponsored child care and universal health care. The county’s Board of Education met Wednesday to discuss “Social Studies Alive! Our Community and Beyond,” a book the county has used since 2004 but has come under fire in recent months. The book examines culture, government and public service in the U.S. and other countries, but some parents have pointed to passages in the text they believe subtly promote foreign political systems while disparaging the U.S. “The entire slant of the book is you're getting used to the idea of government running your life,” said Cindy Rose, a parent who requested that the book be removed from the county's curriculum.

Maryland Certifies Nearly 50,000 Anti-DREAM Act Signatures
Maryland Certifies Nearly 50,000 Anti-DREAM Act Signatures... Opponents of the Maryland DREAM Act are one step closer to letting voters decide if illegal aliens should receive in-state tuition discounts when they attend colleges and universities in the state. On Wednesday, the State Board of Elections certified more than 47,000 petition signatures, leaving petition sponsors with little more than 8,000 signatures to collect by the June 30 deadline...DREAM Act opponents must submit the remaining petition signatures to the state board by June 30. If the required number (55,736) are submitted by that date, the new law will NOT go into effect. If signatures are certified, the issue will be presented to voters in November 2012.

HERE WE GO AGAIN...Sen. Dick Durbin Announces First-Ever Senate Hearing on the Dream Act
HERE WE GO AGAIN...Sen. Dick Durbin Announces First-Ever Senate Hearing on the Dream Act..Durbin (D-IL) announced today that he will chair the first-ever Senate hearing on the DREAM Act next Tuesday, June 28th, at 10:00 am ET. The hearing will be in room 226, of the Dirksen Senate Office Building. “I’ve been working on the DREAM Act for over ten years,” Durbin said. “In that time, it’s been reported out of committee by a large bipartisan margin, passed the House of Representatives, and received a bipartisan majority vote in the Senate, only to fall because of a filibuster. I’ll convene the first-ever Senate hearing on this bill next week to discuss how the DREAM Act will make our country stronger by giving undocumented students a chance to earn legal status if they came here as children, are long-term U.S. residents, have good moral character, and complete two years of college or military service in good standing.” Durbin will chair the hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Immigration, Refugees and Border Security. The hearing will be webcast live on the Judicary Committee website.

The dumbing-down of America
The dumbing-down of America "Is our children learning?" as George W. Bush so famously asked. Well, no, they is(are) not learning, especially the history of their country, the school subject at which America's young perform at their worst. -- On history tests given to 31,000 pupils by the National Assessment of Education Progress, the "Nation's Report Card," most fourth-graders could not identify a picture of Abraham Lincoln

Connecticut Dream Act Passes and is signed by Governor Malloy.... Malloy signed a measure that entitles illegal aliens to receive the in-state tuition benefit for attending Connecticut's public colleges and universities. This assistance previously was afforded only to legal citizens who live in the state...aka the "Act Concerning Access to Postsecondary Education"....[another state giving competitive slots in public institutions to illegals in favor of legal students...another state charging 1/3 tuition to illegals, full tuition paid by American Citizens from other states]

Some Pennsylvania Legislators Want to Give In-State Tuition to Illegal Aliens
Some Pennsylvania Legislators Want to Give In-State Tuition to Illegal Aliens..."A bill to be introduced in the state House today by Rep. Tony Payton, D-Phila., would . . . allow illegal aliens who were brought here as children by their parents and who have attended high school in the state to pay instate college tuition rates rather than higher, out-of-state rates," "Bob Dane, spokesman for the FAIR, a Washington-based group that seeks to stop illegal immigration, contended that state lawmakers' attempts to pass a DREAM Act-type bill 'is an amnesty bill disguised as an educational initiative.'" GA: (HB87) Law could impact school enrollment
GA: (HB87) Law could impact school enrollment...Metro Atlanta school officials plan to closely monitor their enrollment figures over the summer now that Georgia’s tough new immigration enforcement law is about to take effect. The reason: Many illegal aliens could leave the state and pull their children out of public schools if opponents are unable to block the law in federal court. The immigration law is scheduled to take effect July 1. But a federal judge could rule as soon as Monday on a request by civil and immigrant rights groups to block the law. They argue the law is unconstitutional. State lawmakers deny that and predict the law will stand.

Schools Will Obey New Alabama Immigration Law HB56...A bill passed by the Legislature and signed into law by Bentley Thursday includes language requiring schools to report the immigration status of students. Morton said Friday that state schools would comply with the provisions of the new law. “I think I have built my career around following the law and we will follow this one,” Morton said. He said the new law requires him to interpret the requirements of the statute before the new law takes effect Sept. 1.

MD: Baltimore County Council members support illegal alien tuition petition
MD: Baltimore County Council members support illegal alien tuition petition...The majority of the Baltimore County Council plans to issue a statement as early as Thursday morning expressing support for the petition that seeks to halt a new state law giving discounted in-state tuition to illegal aliens..Republican David Marks said he has already signed the petition. Huff said he is "strongly opposed" to the bill and supports efforts to put the issue to a referendum. "I do feel it's going to have an economic impact on local jurisdictions," he said. "We depend on tuition to help fund our community colleges. Where they lack these funds, we then have to supplement, and in these very difficult economic times, tuition breaks to illegal aliens is NOT good or economical."

NC: Tensions flare over Folwell bill (HB744) on illegal aliens in schools
NC: Tensions flare over Folwell bill (HB744) on illegal aliens in schools...HB744 is titled the "Safe Students Act." It will still require school principals to get a birth certificate or other medical documents from new students, but it originally required principals to ask parents whether their child is a U.S. citizen. The bill said that information "shall be used only for fiscal analysis and shall not be used to deny admission to a child." Federal law requires public schools to accept students regardless of immigration status. N.C. Dream Team, a group of illegal aliens and mostly young activists whose unofficial slogan is "undocumented and unafraid," called Folwell and other bill sponsors "unprincipled cowards" (REALLY, American Taxpayers are cowards? We pay for your education but have NO right to know exactly how much is spent on YOU!)

In-state tuition bill (SB742) for illegal aliens dies in Oregon House
In-state tuition bill(SB742) for illegal aliens dies in Oregon House..The Oregon House will not have an up-or-down vote on a bill allowing in-state tuition rates for state university students, regardless of immigration status. A petition failed to obtain the signatures from 31 members — the majority required to pass a bill — by today's deadline. So SB742, heard by the House Rules Committee back on May 11 but never advanced, is likely to die there.

States clarify tuition policies for Illegal Alien students
States clarify tuition policies for Illegal Alien students.. New laws clarifying tuition charges for illegal aliens at public colleges are poised to go into effect in three states this summer, bringing to 13 the number of states that allow such students to pay lower, in-state rates and to five the number that forbid it. (example, the sticker price last year was $8,416 for in-state students and $24,831 for non-residents in Maryland....in other words, illegals pay the lower price, children of American Citizens pay the full price...EACH AND EVERY ONE SHOULD BE FIGHTING THIS IN YOUR STATES)

Illegal-Alien Tuition Breaks Allowed by U.S. High Court in California Case...The justices turned away an appeal by a group of non-Californians who attend school in the state and pay as much as $20,000 per year MORE than ILLEGAL residents. The students said 25,000 illegal aliens pay the lower tuition each year, costing the state $208 million. California is one of nine states that make illegal aliens eligible for in-state tuition, according to the suing students.

CA: Bill AB 131 on financial aid for Illegal Alien college students advances in CA Legislature
CA: Bill AB 131 on financial aid for Illegal Alien college students advances in CA Legislature...The state aid that illegal alien students could become eligible for would include Cal-Grants, institutional aid and fee waivers at publicly funded colleges. Then-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed measures that would have provided the same privileges. Assemblyman Gil Cedillo (D-Los Angeles) said his proposal, which passed the lower house, would help "children brought here through no choice of their own, who embrace our values and learn the language." Republicans voted en masse against the measure, AB 131, saying it would create an incentive for illegal aliens.

TX: Mexican School Moves Into El Paso
TX: Mexican School Moves Into El Paso... The well-known Mexican University Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey opens a new prep-school campus in west El Paso...This is the first location in the U.S. Zulema Aguilar, academic director, said, "We promote ethics, social responsibility, languages, cultures, and science and technological field. But it will just be an integrated model." Classes for grades 9 and 10 and possibly 11 will start on Aug. 8. About 100 students are expected to attend. It can be found on 9,600 square feet of land at 5450 Hurd Place. Leaders of the school said this venture into El Paso is an experiment to see how well it does in the U.S. If it’s successful they’ll consider moving on to other cities, including San Diego or San Antonio. The institution is currently accepting applications. Tuition is around $8,000 a year. (WHY DON'T THEY STAY IN MEXICO AND EDUCATE THEIR OWN PEOPLE, WHY DON'T I HAVE A GOOD FEELING ABOUT THIS?????)
