JOBLESS CLAIMS RISE TO 474,000 FOR WEEK 8 MONTH HIGH..The number of people continuing to collect jobless benefits rose by 74,000 in the week ended April 23 to 3.73 million. The continuing claims figure does NOT include the number of workers receiving extended benefits under federal programs. (what is the REAL figure of Americans unemployed and the percentage?)
