On Friday, Gov. Bob McDonnell (R-VA) stated publicly that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is dragging its feet in their decision on whether or not to grant Virginia police officers the authority to deport illegal aliens. Gov. McDonnell said: "The unfortunate reality is that ICE is underfunded and understaffed to adequately manage the detention and deportation of criminal illegal aliens without the assistance of well-trained state partners.
