Huron, South Dakota: Police chief suspended for speaking-out against those who hire illegal aliens

Huron, South Dakota: Police chief suspended for speaking-out against those who hire illegal aliens...On March 7, 2011, the police chief in Huron, South Dakota, was placed on administrative leave after testifying before a state senate committee about local businesses who regularly employ illegal aliens. Chief Schmitt told the legislators: “We have confidential informants that have been inside both facilities for a length of time and they tell us that if you make application there and you don't have any documentation, documentation will be provided for you so that you can have gainful employment with them.” Schmitt went before the committee to speak in favor of a bill that would have made it a state crime to hire illegal aliens.
