Tucson, AZ: TUSD issues statement on ethnic studies protest...Tucson Unified School District Superintendent Dr. John Pedicone released a statement today on the ethnic studies protest Tuesday night..In it, he states that the district viewed the disruption of the scheduled meeting as an unlawful act. He says the district will review video of the incident and will determine what action should be taken.
He says that while students and the community have the right to free speech, this does not include the right to interfere in the operation of the district..Dr. Pedicone says that in the future, precautions will be taken to prevent this type of incident.
