States unmoved by SB 1070 backlash

States unmoved by SB 1070 backlash...states pressing forward with anti-immigration legislation are studying the legal pitfalls that have ensnared the Arizona law, ensuring they don't suffer a similar fate..If Washington won't fix the broken immigration system and secure the border, states will. Florida, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina moving ahead.

  1. Obama: States Cannot Have Their Own Immigration Laws
Obama says the U.S. cannot deal with immigration in a piecemeal, state-by-state manner. says it would be chaotic for states to create their own immigration policies, and said his administration has been forceful in enforcing immigration laws. (ANOTHER LIE)
“We can't have 50 different immigration laws around the country. Arizona tried this and a federal court already struck them down."

“The truth of the matter is that we've done more on enforcement than any previous administration,” the president said. “We have more border patrols. We have been engaging in serious crackdowns on employers who are hiring undocumented workers.”

(States wouldn't need or want their own immigration laws if the FEDERAL government would just enforce all existing immigration laws)

Notice that Obama only has a problem with states that want to enforce the laws. I haven't seen him say anything about Utah passing it's own "immigration" laws.
