Los Angeles: Limited cooperation urged in immigration program (Secure Communities Program) City leaders want Los Angeles to limit police participation in a federal deportation program where fingerprints of people arrested are shared with immigration agents. The Los Angeles Times says Councilman Bernard Parks, a former Los Angeles police chief, and Councilwoman Jan Perry support a council resolution proposed Tuesday that would limit participation in the Secure Communities program.
