  1. Nebraska City Atty. Hails Ariz. Immigration Ruling
Fremont, Nebraska: Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach says the decision "vindicates Fremont's position" on its own ordinance governing illegal aliens. Kobach is representing Fremont in a challenge filed over a 2010 law that bans hiring or renting to illegal immigrants. A trial is set for April. Kobach says the hiring restriction in the Fremont ordinance is similar to the Arizona law. The court ruled federal immigration law gives states the authority to impose sanctions on employers who hire unauthorized workers.
