Illegal Aliens’ State Tax Refunds Frozen in Arizona..Roughly $6 million in state income tax refunds owed to illegal aliens in Arizona remain in legal limbo.
The state government has decided to withhold refunds from filers whose taxpayer identification number, or ITIN, does not match the Social Security number on the W2 form.. The state is “betting” illegal alien taxpayers won’t fight to obtain their refunds, given that many of them lack the money to hire a lawyer and are afraid to approach government agencies.
