Ca- Jobless American Teens and Immigration

Ca- Jobless American Teens and Immigration..California has 33 public, four-year universities and more than 100 private colleges. Many immigrants matriculate at these institutions on F-1 student visas. Although terms of their visas only allow for “limited employment,” they can nevertheless find jobs at some level, often assisted by the university itself. After graduation, they’re allowed to work for one year in their chosen field. Many then apply for a change-of-immigration status from F-1 visa to an H-1B employment visa which gives them the full legal right to work in the United States. These visas work to the detriment of California teens looking for entry level jobs.
